Departure from the Manaus pier aboard M/V Desafio for three nights. Once on board, a welcome drink will be served and useful information about the Amazon, the boat, and the program details will be provided. Navigation toward Anavilhanas, the second-largest river archipelago in the world. Guests may enjoy a peaceful canoe ride, an opportunity to listen to the sounds of the jungle. (L–D)
Breakfast on board and navigation to the village of Acajatuba. Along the way, visit the floating station to interact with pink river dolphins and see the famous pirarucu fish. Lunch on board. In the afternoon, depart for a fun experience: piranha fishing. Lunch on board. A canoe ride offers the opportunity to spot caimans and other nocturnal animals with flashlights. (B–L–D)
Very early in the morning, depart to admire the sunrise in the jungle and listen to birdsong in its natural habitat. Return on board for breakfast while navigating toward the village of Jaraqui, where we will take an interesting walk to discover the flora and fauna. Return to M/V Desafio and navigate to the Tatuyos Indigenous community; this visit is an opportunity to learn about Indigenous lifestyles and customs that remain to this day. New Year’s Eve dinner. NEW YEAR’S EVE DINNER
7:00 PM: Brazilian snack buffet at the sun deck bar. National open bar from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM, including soft drinks, fruit juices, cachaça caipirinhas, fruit cocktails with and without alcohol, beer, red or white wine, and imported whisky.
10:00 PM: Special New Year’s Eve buffet dinner served in the main panoramic restaurant. The open bar continues. One bottle of champagne per cabin during dinner.
After another tropical breakfast, navigate along the Rio Negro toward the Solimões River until reaching the Meeting of the Waters, where the Negro and Solimões rivers join to form the great Amazon River. Return navigation to the city of Manaus, arriving at our pier at approximately 11:00 AM. (B)
